It’s no surprise that one of my favorite things to make are cupcakes. I love the different designs of cupcake liners, and I often find myself hoarding stocking up on these cute novelties at craft stores. Plus, baking cupcakes allow me to whip out my sprinkle collection (which we all know I love dearly).
So when I found these old records at the thrift store for $1 each, I knew exactly what I wanted to do with them! A DIY cupcake stand. I could go out and buy one of those fancy displays but what fun would that be? (For my creativity AND wallet!) Plus, my cupboards can’t possibly handle any more kitchen gadgets. Let’s just say that kitchen gadgets were the go-to Christmas gift growing up when people didn’t know what to get me. I asked for silicone bakeware at the age of 12. Yes, I was (and still am) that lame.
So along with the records, I found two wide based candlesticks at another thrift store for $0.25 each! After a little bit of glue, it was finished! It was SO easy to make and was all done for only $2.50! That would be considered a success in my books.
All you need is 2 wide based candlesticks, 2 records, and glue. (Gorilla Glue works great!)
Tip: Many thrift stores sell these old records for super cheap. I picked up both for $1 each!
And goodwill is always filled with odds and ends candlesticks, so if you are looking to make one of these for yourself be sure to check there!

This is such a great idea! I love repurposing things and I can’t wait to try it :)
