If you don’t like dark chocolate, I would use milk chocolate before I would use semi-sweet. You actually got me to remember that the first time I made these, I used half milk chocolate & half bittersweet. I’m slowly remembering this lost recipe & am planning to make different variations with different chocolates….so stay tuned! :)

In reply to Niki. The oatmeal adds in a bit of texture, to combat the fudgy chocolate! I made myself add in a little healthy with all that chocolate ;)

Ok, I have a dumb question. I hate dark chocolate, but I know that sometimes in cookies you need that super strong chocolate taste. Would it be acceptable to use semisweet chocolate instead?

I would never normally think of pairing chocolate with oatmeal, but you changed my mind. These look incredible!
