Growing up it was always a treat when we made homemade doughnuts. And when I say homemade, I mean semi-homemade. Did you know you can indulge in these delectable treats without hitting up your local doughnut shop?
It’s as simple as picking up some good ol’ canned biscuits!
Check em’ out below!
Simply lay the biscuits on a piece of wax paper. Take a thimble and punch out the centers. Keep the centers and fry them up along with the doughnuts! They are my favorite part!
Heat up an inch or so of oil in a pan on medium heat. To test the oil, drop in one of the center holes and see how fast it fries. If it turns dark very quickly, lower the heat and wait a few minutes before frying the doughnuts. They brown quickly so be sure to have tongs or a metal spoon on hand to flip them over!
Once fried, sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve hot. Yummm. My mouth is watering just looking at these pics. Another round of homemade doughnuts might have to come sooner than I thought.
Doesn’t get easier than this! Try these for yourself for a fraction of the cost of a store bought treat. Enjoy!

It’s how the Chinese restaurants make their donuts. Except they sprinkle with sugar.
