Once, I lived in an apartment where I turned the linen closet into my own personal kitchen appliance closet. I am not even joking. I have a buffet filled with kitchen gadgets. the bottom and top of my pantry, and even some in the basement. It’s a total addition and I can’t help it. Not that I would if I wanted to. My new goal is to get a VitaMix. I just got a beautiful brand new Raspberry Ice KitchenAid stand mixer and I love it.

On my last home trip I returned with a breadmaker in my suitcase (who needs clothes?!) after giving in and buying a second-hand one from ebay (previous trips have seen me return with cookie cutters, bake trays, spices and ingredients I just can’t get here).

My latest purchase? A candy thermometer because I REALLY needed it (well, I used it once, might use it again some day!). Oh, and that breadmaker – I use it every week so it was a wise purchase and as I got it cheap it has already paid for itself many times over.
