Thanks for the tip, Rashidah! I’m curious now – were you using the normal Whoppers brand? I *think* I used a jumbo specialty milk ball when I made these, which might be why mine didn’t melt so fast! I added your tip into the recipe, as most people will likely be using the Whoppers brand and it’s better safe than shriveled-up! ;)

We were given a box of Whoppers (but we don’t really care for them), so I was grateful to find a creative way to use them. These cookies are really good!! We all really liked them. My only tweak to the recipe (after making the first dozen) was to let the cookies cool off for 3 minutes before putting the Whoppers in them. In the first batch, the Whoppers melted and shrunk and turned hard and chewy in the center.
